VABO d.o.o. is the contractor of the operation "Construction of the ski lift infrastructure KOPE (Kopnik, Pahernik, Velika Kopa) with additional year-round activities", which was selected as eligible under the call for tender "Public call for tender for investments in quality and sustainable transformation of Slovenian tourism to strengthen its resilience (URL RS 209/21, 15/22, 28/22, 92/22)."
The aim of the operation is to strengthen the resilience of Slovenian tourism, its qualitative and sustainable transformation and the reduction of seasonality in order to increase competitiveness and added value in tourism.
The objectives of the operation are:
- Strengthening the resilience of the 'mountain and outdoor holidays' tourism product by upgrading and restructuring the mountain centre Kope into a year-round mountain centre for active holidays,
- Increasing the number of higher quality accommodation facilities in line with the strategic orientations of Slovenian tourism (sustainability, boutique, authenticity, etc.) in order to increase the quality of services,
- Raising value added and inflows from travel exports.
Co-financing from the Cohesion Policy is up to EUR 6,534,977.43.

Timeframe for implementation of the operation: 07.03.2022 - 10.11.2023.
The investment is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund.
The operation is part-financed by the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund and is implemented under the "Operational Programme for the Implementation of the European Cohesion Policy 2014-2020", Priority Axis 15 "Promoting recovery from the crisis in the context of REACT-EU-ESRR", Priority Investment 15.1 "Promoting recovery from the crisis in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and preparing a green, digital and resilient economic recovery".
