Cookie policy

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. The browser's local storage and session storage work in a similar way: the website also uses them to keep data on your device. In this policy, we refer to all of these as cookies where there is no need to distinguish between them.

Cookies enable certain features to work, such as the cart and checkout, and allow your settings to be remembered. Some cookies also make it possible to measure visits and ad performance.

This policy applies to the website of the Kope mountain resort, operated by Vabo d.o.o., Glavni trg 43, 2380 Slovenj Gradec. To learn more about how we process personal data, read our Privacy Policy.

2. Your consent

We use necessary cookies without your consent, as the website cannot work the way you have requested without them. We set analytics and marketing cookies only if you accept them in the cookie banner that appears on your first visit.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the Cookie settings button at the top of this page. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. We remember your choice for 6 months and then ask you again.

Google's tools (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads) load on every page, but until you give your consent they do not store cookies or send Google any identifiers that would allow it to recognise you. They send only basic cookieless signals, for example that a page was visited, which Google may use for modelled statistics. Meta Pixel does not load until you accept marketing cookies.

We do not load analytics or marketing tools on the checkout page where you enter your payment card details.

3. Necessary cookies

These cookies are needed for the website and the features you use to work. They are always on.

  • kope_cart_session – keeps your cart and your progress through checkout. Duration: 7 days.
  • kope_consent – stores your cookie choice. Duration: 6 months.
  • NEXT_LOCALE – remembers the website language. Duration: until you close the browser.
  • theme – remembers the season you have selected (summer or winter) so that we can show you the relevant offers. Duration: 1 year.
  • kope_booking_prefs – remembers your last accommodation search (arrival and departure dates, number of adults and children, and children's ages) so that you do not have to fill in the search form again. Duration: 30 days.

Browser local storage

This data remains on your device until you delete it in your browser settings.

  • theme – the selected season, so that the page is displayed in the right colours straight away.
  • booking-search – your last accommodation search. We delete it once your accommodation booking is confirmed.
  • saved_products – offers you have saved to your favourites. We send the list to the server only to display information about the saved offers; we do not store it on the server.
  • kope-currency – the currency selected for displaying prices.

Session storage

  • kope_checkout_draft – temporarily stores the data you have entered in the checkout form (email address, first and last name, address, telephone number and special requests) so that you do not lose it if you refresh the page. It does not store payment card details. It is deleted when you close the tab or submit your order.

4. Analytics cookies

We set these cookies only with your consent.

We use Google Analytics to monitor how visitors use the website: which pages they visit, how long they stay, which page or ad brought them to us, which device and browser they use, and roughly which country or city they are from. We use this data to improve the website and our offers. Google Analytics does not store IP addresses. We retain data linked to individual visitors for 14 months.

  • _ga – distinguishes visitors. Duration: 2 years.
  • _ga_P8LX31BN4Y – maintains the session state. Duration: 2 years.

5. Marketing cookies

We set these cookies only with your consent.

We use them to measure how many visits and purchases our ads on Google, Facebook and Instagram bring in, and to show ads to people who have already visited our website. We manage Google's advertising tools through Google Tag Manager, which does not set any cookies itself.

  • _gcl_au and _gcl_aw (Google Ads) – link an ad click to a visit and a purchase on the website. Duration: 90 days.
  • IDE (Google, on the doubleclick.net domain) – measuring and displaying ads. Duration: 13 months.
  • _fbp (Meta Pixel) – distinguishes visitors for measuring ads on Facebook and Instagram. Duration: 90 days.
  • _fbc (Meta Pixel) – stores information about a click on an ad on Facebook or Instagram. Duration: 90 days.
  • fr (Meta, on the facebook.com domain) – displaying and measuring ads. Duration: 90 days.

Providers: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland. Both may also process data in the USA on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

6. Third-party content

Some pages display content that your browser loads directly from other providers. In doing so, these providers receive your IP address and browser information. Their processing is subject to their own privacy policies.

  • Cloudinary – photos on the website.
  • OpenStreetMap and Esri – maps on the skiing, bike park and experiences pages.
  • whatsupcams – webcam footage.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile – protecting the newsletter sign-up against bots. It loads when you click in the email address field.
  • Bankart – secure fields for entering payment card details when you pay.

7. Managing cookies in your browser

In addition to the settings on our website, you can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, the cart and checkout will not work.

8. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when we start using new tools or when existing ones change. If the types of cookies for which we need your consent change, we will ask for your consent again.
