"CAMP AT THE WILD PETELIN:
Sustainable boutique camp for unique experiences in nature"
The investment represents the new construction of a modern and sustainable tourist campsite, which will offer guests the ultimate experience of staying in nature.
A new building will be constructed, comprising:
- New infrastructure for 51 camping pitches with 5* categorisation
- Service building with reception ( toilets, catering facility )
- Recreational facilities ( sauna, fitness, relaxation areas )
- Electric vehicle charging stations, car parks and access routes
The type of "initial investment" represents the construction of new accommodation establishments (new build), as the facility will be built on undeveloped or partially developed land where no comparable tourist establishment has existed until now. The project does not involve the reconstruction or renovation of an existing INFRASTRUCTURE, but rather the creation of an entirely new establishment, which meets the definition of a new building.
The investment aims to create an innovative and sustainable camping complex combining high-quality accommodation, boutique experiences and sustainable management of natural resources. The camping at Divje Petelin will target visitors looking for a unique stay in nature with the possibility of additional activities such as:
- wellness and relaxation programmes (massages, saunas, outdoor jacuzzis),
- cultural and gastronomic experiences (local cuisine, organic food, cooperation with farms and wineries),
- active recreational opportunities (hiking, cycling, winter activities),
- ecotourism (learning about native flora and fauna, sound baths in the forest, wild bird watching).
The objectives of the investment are aligned with the objectives of the NOP and the objectives of the Slovenian Tourism Development Strategy 2022-2028.
- Strong positioning in the field of environmental sustainability
- Increasing added value in tourism through the sustainable development of the tourism offer into higher added value tourism
The objectives of the investment are in line with the sustainable tourism development orientation and include:
- Raising the quality of the region's accommodation offer by developing a luxury campsite,
- Increasing the attractiveness of the destination for guests with higher spending power and eco-conscious tourists,
- Extending the tourist season with a year-round offer,
- creating new jobs and boosting local economic activity,
- reducing the environmental footprint of tourism by introducing eco-solutions and sustainable business practices.
The project will be closely linked to existing tourism providers in the region, offering guided bike tours and other cycling programmes in cooperation with Bike Park Kope . It will also be linked to local producers, such as Kmetija Klančnik, which will supply local products. Visitors will have access to hiking trails and local attractions, and the opportunity to engage in various activities such as culinary workshops and adrenaline-fuelled outdoor adventures. The project will thus enhance a sustainable and authentic tourism experience and promote local cooperation and economy.
Key investment result
Once built, the campsite will operate on the principle of energy self-sufficiency and eco-tourism, allowing for long-term business stability and positive multiplier effects on the wider region.
The Camping at Divje Petelin project will make an important contribution to improving the quality of tourism in the region and to the development of sustainable forms of living in nature. With its unique offer, luxury design and integration of local tourism facilities, it will become a key point for visitors who want an authentic experience of unspoilt nature with a touch of comfort and top-class services.
The investment is designed to be financially sustainable, ecologically responsible and socially beneficial in the long term, contributing to the competitiveness of the destination, the creation of new jobs and the sustainable development of tourism in the Pungart area.
